Julius August Boehnke, the son of Carl Ludwig and Amelia Augusta (Bahr) Boehnke, was born in Schlacholtz, KreitFelde, Germany, on March 25, 1879. At the age of 5 he came to America with his parents and settled in the St. John's community north-east of Garner.
On September 4, 1908, he was married to Anna L. Pueggle. They lived on a farm just east of St. John's Lutheran church in Concord township until they retired to Ventura several years ago.
Surviving are his wie, Anna; three sons, Lawrence, Earl and George and one daughter Elsie and five grandchildren.
Also surviving are 3 sisters; Mrs. Emma Bohn Ventura, Mrs. Augusta Bohn Garner, Mrs. Wm. Pueggel of Clear Lake; one brother Ferdenand of Ventura.
One son, Arnold, and three brothers, Emil, Gustav, Carl and one sister, Bertha, preceded him in death.
Mr. Boehnke was prominent in cvic and community affairs and will be missed by all who knew him.
