Victim of the Virginia Tech shootings. Austin, 18, was a freshman in international studies.Austin would have been 19,Tuesday,April 24. She was a standout athlete, who played basketball and volleyball in high school. She was active in her church and had a lot of friends. She loved her family, and her friends. Austin hoped to foster peace in a troubled world by working for the United Nations. Austin and her mother worked on many projects that benefited low-income people. She gave up many Saturdays to work in poor people's homes. "She was willing to do that to give of herself to spread God's love." She was beautiful, brilliant, compassionate, and humble.Her father,Dr.C.Bryan Cloyd,who is an accouting professor at Va.Tech sent a message to his students in an e-mail "if we don't meet again,your final assignment from me is perhaps the most important lesson you will learn in life,"he wrote,"Go to your mother,father,brothers and sisters and tell them with all your heart how much you love them. And tell them that you know how much they love you,too."Go out of your way to make good memories...At some point these memories may be all you have left. Austin Michelle Cloyd,is survived by her parents, C.Bryan and Renee H.Cloyd; brother,Andrew Morgan Cloyd, grandparents,Brenda R.Austin, and Larry and Lois Cloyd.
