Mr. Facenda, a native of Portsmouth, was the retired owner and operator of the Colonial Shoppe restaurant in downtown Portsmouth for 48 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church; an honorary life member of Knights of Columbus Council 418; a member of St. Paul's Assembly, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus; and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Paul's Catholic Church by the Rev. Thomas B. Nee. Burial will be in Portsmouth Catholic Cemetery. A Christian Wake service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday at Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Building Fund of St. Paul's Catholic Church.
