Mrs. Josephine Ramsay Passes Away Sunday
Mrs. Florilla Josephine Ramsay well known and beloved resident of Gonzales, died at her home Sunday morning at 8:30 o'clock.
Mrs. Ramsay had been in failing health for over a year, her condition taking a turn for the worse two months ago. A week ago Mrs. Ramsay's condition became critical.
She was a member of the First Baptist church and was known and loved for her deeply consecrated life. She remained a patient sufferer during her long period of illness 7 til her death gave her respite.
Funeral services have been set for this afternoon (Monday) at 4 o'clock at the First Baptist church. Interment will be held in the Wrightsboro cemetery, Mrs. Ramsay's pastor, Rev. Hal C. Wingo, conducting the last earthly tribute.
Mrs. Ramsay was 81 years of age. Her husband, Gifford Ramsey, preceded her in death fourteen years ago.
She is survived by her four daughters, Miss Sue Ramsay, Mrs. Della Shelby and Mrs. Luna Davis of this city and Mrs. C. T. Ballard of Alpine; four sons, Dan U. Ramsay of this city, D. W. Ramsay of Ennis, Texas and C.R.Ramsay of San Angelo.She also leaves four sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Mollie Allen of San Antonio, Mrs. Fannie Allen of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Mattie Mczcaughan of Yancy, Texas and Mrs. L. M. Colley of Smiley; Robert Williams of Smiley and J. A. Williams of Ballinger; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
