Todd Wesley Krodle

Lt. Todd W. Krodle, 41, a faithful husband, a loving father, a dedicated son, a hero to his little brother, and Dallas Fire Fighter died Sunday, August 14, at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, after valiantly fighting an apartment fire in west Dallas. A service to celebrate his life and honor Jesus Christ will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Highland Terrace Baptist Church in Greenville. Burial will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the church.

He was born April 6, 1970 in Greenville to proud parents, Richard and Nell Krodle. Todd was a 1988 graduate of Greenville High School and a 1992 graduate of East Texas State University (now Texas A&M-Commerce) where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Education and his teaching certificate. In 1993, he attained one of his goals in life when he became a member of the Dallas Fire Department and Rookie Class 239. He served most of his career at Station 26 as a Fire Rescue Officer, Driver/Engineer and then a Lieutenant. When promoted to Driver, Todd served at Station 35 for almost a year before transferring back to Oak Cliff as quickly as he could to his brothers at Station 26.

He married Kelli Slack, the love of his life and best friend, on June 3, 1995, and welcomed their son, Cade, in 1998 and daughter, Caroline, in 2001. He was the consummate husband and father to his family and found his greatest joy in serving, caring for and giving to them.

Todd put his faith in Jesus Christ in 1980 and followed Him until his dying breath. Todd was faithful to his church and lived a life worthy of the sacrifice of Christ. In every aspect of his life it can be boldly said that Todd's was a life well lived.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents W.W. "Pete" Krodle, Rachel B. Krodle, Lloyd Lindsey, and Ruby Lindsey.

Todd is survived by his wife and children of Caddo Mills, parents of Greenville, brother Kurt Alan Krodle and wife, Theressa of Arlington and nephew Kason Krodle of Arlington.

Pallbearers will be members of the Dallas Fire Department Station 26.
