He was born June 10, 1913, in Greenwich, Pa. Mr. Basco worked as a foreman for Diamond Shamrock in Painesville and was a former deputy sheriff in Lake County. He was a lifetime member of the Elks, American Legion and Eagles. He served in the Army during World War II and received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
Mr. Basco is survived by his wife, Gertrude (nee Kaufman) Basco of Florida; son, William (June) Basco of Hinckley Township; granddaughter, Cheryl (Chris) Martin; grandsons, William (Michelle Zabala) Basco Jr. and Jason Basco; great-granddaughter, Megan Basco; and great-grandson, Gavin Martin.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
