An accomplished plaster, painter, bartender and an avid cook, Reace Barra, Jr. passed away at 5 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012. He was 62, a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War and a resident of Baton Rouge.
Visiting at Neely United Methodist Church, pastored by Rev. Arnold V. Brown, Sr., until religious service, conducted by Rev. Henry Lamb. Arrangements with Wilson-Wooddale Funeral Home.
He is survived by a devoted friend, Vanessa Isadore; one daughter, Ebony Nicole Barra; three adopted daughters, Charisma Hall, Adreaunna Johnson, and Neicy Martin, all of Baton Rouge, LA; one son, Reace Barra, III; three sisters, Linda H. (Donald, Sr.) Johnson, Pamela B. Knox and Delphia J. Duncan, all of Baton Rouge, LA; one brother, Michael W. Johnson; three adopted brothers, Sam Jones, Wycliff (Sheila) Robertson, all of Baton Rouge, LA, and David (Rosie) Spence Jr., of Baytown TX; two granddaughters, Mychelle and Mahaylia Williams; one uncle, Central (Margaret) Barra, of Milwaukee, WI; one aunt, Vivian Morrison, of Baton Rouge, LA; and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Reace Barra, Sr. and Nellie J. Barra; grandparents; and a host of other relatives.
