Jesse Puterbaugh's obituary in the Tipton Tribune, September 9, 1914, says that he died August 31, 1914 at his home in Texhoma, Okla. About six years earlier, he moved there from Curtisville, Indiana. His son Walter, still resides about one and a half miles north of Curtisville. Jesse was twice married, the surviving children of the first marriage are Ollie, Walter, William Daniel and Dewey; and those by his second wife are Bertha, Leata and Ellen. His widow was formerly Mrs. Amanda Snodgrass who had two sons, Harold and Derrill. Jesse Puterbaugh was a well known citizen and Madison township.
