KOHLER – Adam Cyril, 100, Windber, passed away June 8, 2014, at Hillside Manor, Uniontown. Born March 7, 1914, in Windber, son of Joseph and Johanna (Fercik) Kohler. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Susan (Nahorniak) Kohler; sisters, Anna, Margaret, Mary and Sophie; and brothers, John, Joseph and George. Adam was the beloved father of Adam A. Kohler, and wife, Susanne, Perryopolis; Barbara Harbrant, Johnstown; Susan C., wife of James D. Devlin, Pittsburgh; and Mark A. Kohler, New Paris. Also survived by grandchildren, Kristine Hougard, Adam A. Kohler III, Debbie Walling, Maria Tiffany and Justin Burke Devlin; and seven great-grandchildren. Adam was a Pennsylvania Railroad brakeman and conductor; coal miner; and was a custodian for Windber Area School District. Adam served with the Civilian Conservation Corps. His favorite sport was baseball, where he had been a pitcher. Member of SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Windber, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. George M. Gulash. Committal, church cemetery, Windber. Friends received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at William Kisiel Funeral Home, Windber, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Adam’s memory.
