He was born Sept. 2, 1893 at McFerron, the son of John W. and Emma (McGarvey) Miles. He attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Clearfield and was a retired employee of the Elk Tanning Co.
Mr. Miles was married to the former Pearl Fulton who survives him. He and his wife celebrated their 6th wedding anniversary in October 1977.
The following children survive; Mrs. Cloyd (Marjorie) Myers, Clearfield; Mrs. Leland (Louise) Shaw, Curwensville; Richard M. Miles, Curwensville; Mrs. Allen (Arlene) Demi, Levittown.
Also surviving is a sister Mrs Mabel Reay of Altoona. Mr. Miles was proceeded in death by his parents, three sisters and five brothers.
Fifteen grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.
