Son of Loren Day & Martha Elizabeth (Dickenson) Clark... Married (1) to Marie Helen Shackelford (divorced)...Married (2) 1950 to Laura Blanche Stanford...survived by his wife, L Blanche and a daughter, Betty and one son, Henry D and many nieces and newphes who called him 'Unk'. Dad always enjoyed sports, whether he was playing them or watching them. As a young man in high school he played basketball because he wasn't big enough to be a football player. Dad was raised on a farm and never left the farm, although he lived the last 40 or so years of his life in town. He always had a BIG garden of vegetables and flowers. He loved flowers, especially Daliahs. Along with the garden went chickens. He was fond of all animals and raised chickens for many years, and probably would have had more farm animals, if they had been allowed in the city limits. Dad also loved to camp and go fishing. My Mom tells, me that Dad never fished as a young man, but after they were married, she converted him into a fisherman. We spent many vacations and weekends during fishing season camping (not in a campground in those days) along a river or lake.
Dad's best quality, was he rarely said a bad word about anyone; and if he did, you knew that person had done or said something really BAD. He got along with everyone, young or old. In fact, some of his good friends were 40 or more years younger than him. He liked kids and enjoyed watching High School ballgames, even when he had no kids playing. My Dad was a great guy! - Written by his daugher, Betty.
