Melvin Lee Brooks, 69, husband of Mary A. Holman Brooks, passed away Sunday January 12, 2013 at the Georgetown Community Hospital, Georgetown, KY.

A native of Bourbon County, he was the son of the late Charleston and Elizabeth Doyle Brooks. He was a retired employee of the Trane Company and was a member of the Little Rock Christian Church.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Travis Lee Brooks of Lexington and Juan Jackson of Virginia; three grandchildren, Trenton Kenney, Jason Kenney and Amiah Brooks; seven brothers, Charles (Margaret) Brooks; James (Catherine) Brooks, Wallis Brooks, Clayton Brooks, Gary Brooks, John Fields, Evans Fields and McClellan Robinson; three sisters, Lynn (Ed) Jones, Margaret (Ron) Chambers and Laura Fields; stepmother, Nannine Brooks.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by grandparents, Scott and Mary Doyle; one brother, William Brooks and two sisters, Gloria Dodge and Ruth Howard.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday January 18, 2013 at the 7th St. Christian Church by Rev. Robert Wilson.
Pallbearers will be Clyde Marks, Derek Brooks, Terrence Brooks, William Brooks, Doug Cunningham and Lanie Fomas.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Black, Ronnie Mack, Kerry Thomas, Rodney Cosby and Alvin Taylor.
Interment Evergreen Memory Gardens
