Civil War Pension Index: General Index to Pension Files, 1861-1934
Name: George Bales Other: Father Stephen Bales Civil: Tennessee
"Roll Of Honor"

George died just ten days before his older brother Isaac Bales who served with him in the 7th Infantry Reg., Company I.
Their father's two bothers, William Milburn Bales and Jacob Bales also died in the Civil War,

How very sad for the family to have four young men go of to war and never return.

Please note:
I don't usually add comments like this to my memorials, however it needs to be said, do not trust any transcribed records, always check if you can the actual papers. As the above the transcribed show his dying far earlier then he actually did and on different dates, same with his brother Isaac.
