Chester E Shaw died very suddenly at his home Saturday. For the last 12 years Mr. Shaw has served the community as merchant policeman. Born at Smithshire Feb. 20, 1892, he was a son of James Hull and Cordelia Alice Barnett Shaw. He married Bernice Armstrong on Dec. 30, 1915 (his obituary says Dec. 29, 1916) in Monmouth. After their marriage the couple farmed in the Belmont and Seaton area for many years, settling in Monmouth in 1925.

Mr. Shaw worked for the Strand Baking company as a route man for 14 years before becoming merchant policeman. Survivors include two sons, Richard of Oquawka and Robert Dwight Shaw of Galesburg; a brother Harry R Shaw, & two sisters, Grace Musgove of Tampa, FL and Minnie Springer of Houston, TX. Twin sisters, Mabel Ina Shaw and Ethel May Clark, preceded him in death. Burial was in the Warren County Memorial Park in Monmouth.

Minnie Amelia Springer is buried at Houston National Cemetery, Find A Grave # 1213512.
