Son of John Calvin, Sr., and Elizabeth Means Calico.
Husband of Mary Ann Lane Calico.
Father of John Calvin, William Rial, Mary Elizabeth, Dora, Sarah Lenora, Violet Louise, Thomas Washington, Robert Andrew, and Ernest Montgomery Calico.

Thomas Coleman Calico was buried in the Pauper Ground Cemetery, part of the First Street Cemetery, Waco, McLennan, Texas. Following is an excerpt from an article about the cemetery found on the internet: "The construction site (for the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and museum) used to be part of what's known as the First Street Cemetery in Waco, the city's first municipal graveyard, established in 1852. Over the years, parts of it were neglected and had fallen into disrepair. The lower part of the First Street Cemetery, which lines the Brazos River, was ostensibly cleared and de-dedicated by court order in 1968 to make way for the park and the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame. The bodies were supposed to be moved to a different part of the cemetery - but as it turns out, that never happened. Only the remaining grave markers were moved - by 1968, many of them had been carried away by the flooding river while others were made of wood and disintegrated long ago. Many of the graves were never marked."

In September 2012, I spoke with a City of Waco employee who told me there is no marker for Thomas, and in all likelihood he is among those graves never moved, or one that was moved and never marked, or one possibly lost to the flooding river.

Although it is known he was buried there, it is entirely possible his remains are no longer there.
