Services for Elvis Franklin Holmes, 29, were conducted Thursday afternoon from the Scotts Hill Methodist Church. Mr. Holmes died Tuesday, October 2, 1951, at the VAMTC Kennedy Hospital in Memphis, of leukemia.
He was a veteran of the last war.
A native of Scotts Hill, he was the son of Reeder Elmer Holmes and Dossie Jones Holmes. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Miller Holmes and a brother, Odell Holmes.
Full military honors were given at the grave. Burial was in the church cemetery with Pafford Funeral Home in charge.
