Ella (Sather) Christopherson, age 92, died peacefully on January 18, 2013 at the Pioneer Nursing Home in Prairie Farm. She was born November 27, 1920 to Chris & Emma (Haugen) Sather in the Town of Sheridan, Dunn County, WI. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, attended Vanceburg Grade School and later Prairie Farm High School. On June 28, 1941, she was married to Helmer Christopherson at Rice Lake and the couple lived on the Christopherson farm most of their married life. They farmed all of their land together and Ella also worked at Sanna Dairies in Menomonie for a number of years. She was a member of New Hope-Pine Creek Lutheran Church and a member of their Circle. Ella loved gardening and canning all of her vegetables. She was a wonderful cook, baker & quilted many quilts for her children and each of her grandchildren. She also did a lot of sewing. She took many walks in the woods finding many apple trees for her delicious apple pies & looking for all of the best berry bushes for her jams. Ella was a caregiver and always quick to lend a hand to family & friends.

Ella was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Helmer on February 19, 1993, son-in-law: Dave "Buddy" Pond, grandson: Dave Pond, sisters: Marion Wirth & Helen Cole & brothers: Ivan, Newton, Robert & LaVern Sather. She is survived by her son: Robert (Joan) Christopherson of Ridgeland, daughters: Gail Pond of Ridgeland & Ann Johnson of Dayton, MN, grandchildren: Michelle (Tim) Golden, Darin (Dana) Pond, Angela (Bill) Stackhouse, Grant (Michele) Johnson, Tim (Callie) Christopherson, Greg (Jamie) Christopherson & Jessie (Terry) Busch, 18 great grandchildren, sister: Dorothy Kruschke of Eau Claire, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

Funeral services will be (were) held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 22 at New Hope-Pine Creek Lutheran Church in the Town of Wilson, rural Ridgeland, with Rev. Barbara Koch officiating and interment in the church cemetery. Visitation will be (was) held for the hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron.
