Olidel Blue, 88, died Friday, Oct. 24 at Memorial Hospital of
Union County. The Jackson Township native was born July 15,
1909, daughter of Samuel S and Laura Ann Matteson Robertson.
Her husband Glenn Hall Blue, whom she married March 25, 1929
preceded her in death August 18, 1973.
The graduate of Essex and Richwood High Schools, owned and
operated Glendell Beauty Shop for several years. She and her late
husband managed L-K Motels and after her husband's death she
continued to work for L-K Enterprises as a home office representative,
retiring in 1977. She later served as senior citizen consultant
for the Union County Counseling Service.
She was a member of Essex United Methodist Church and its
women's society and formerly served on the Union County Mental
Health Board and Farm Bureau Council.
Surviving are a son, Glenn E. Blue of Soap Lake, Washington;
two daughters, Charlene Conrad of Magnetic Springs and Rebecca
George of Richwood; nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
Rev. Carman Minarik conducted funeral services Monday, Oct.
27 at Essex United Methodist Church. Interment was at Price
Cemetery. Stofcheck Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
