Mary Margaret Burns, age 69, of Sikeston, MO, died on Saturday, November 2, 2002 at 6:25 a.m. at her daughters residence in Rogersville, MO. She was born on June 24, 1933 in Sikeston, Missouri to the late James Clifford and Edna Landers Counsil. She was a housewife and homemaker. She married James L. Burns Sr. on April 6, 1949 in Sikeston, MO and he preceded her in death on October 11, 1999.
    Survivors include; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lenny and Peggy Burnes of Sikeston, MO, Bob and Ruth Burns of Lampe, MO; five daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Harley Cooksey of Matthews, MO, Cheryl and Steve Finnerty of Allen, TX, Terri Phillips and Lennie Harrls of Lebanon, VA, Lisa and Bill Lee of Rogersville, MO, Beth and Lewis Russell of Sikeston, MO; one son-in-law, Billy Minton of Aurora, IL; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Carol Counsil of LeCanto, FL, Earl and Carol Counsil of Rochelle, IL, Charlie and Pat Counsil of Columbia, MO. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Jean Minton; one sister, Joy Davis and three grandchildren.
    Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 5 in the Nunnelee Chapel with Howard Burns officiating. Burial will follow in Matthews Cemetery at Matthews, MO.
    Pallbearers will be James Minton, Scott Minton, Patrick Finnerty, Steven Phillips, Shawn Phillips, Josh Phillips, Chris Burns, Brian Burns, Adam Burns, K.J. Russell, Cody Russell, Kyle Lee, Jacob Russell.
