Born in Mulberry, January 18, 1890, she was the daughter of Emanuel and Carrie (Bayless) Mitman. On October 20, 1910, she was married to Porter R. Brand, who survives.
Surviving besides the widower are a son, Donald, of Indianapolis; seven daughters, Mrs. Frances Stivers, Mrs. Helen Overlay, Mrs. Betty Jane Korschof, Mrs. Cecilia Ohl, Mrs. Doris Jean Larson and Mrs. Mary Alice Taylor, all of Lafayette, and Mrs. Hazel Moreland of Kirkwood, Mo.; a brother Dr. Floyd Mitman of Huntington, and 15 grandchildren. Twin sons preceded her in death.
Services were conducted Tuesday at 2:30 p. m. from the Kleinsmith Funeral Home, Mulberry, with the Rev. H. Earl Moore officiating. Burial was in the Dayton cemetery.
