Charles Davis, 69 of Metter died on Friday Dec. 7,2012 at his residence under the care of Ogeechee Hospice. He was retired from the city of Statesboro Public Works. He was a member of Aaron Church of God.

He is survived by his wife, Youvone Davis of Metter; two daughters, Angie (Andrew) Farley of Summerville, S.C. and Michelle (Jamie) Aldrich of Brooklet; four step-children, Cindy (David) Woods of Metter, Donna (Rich) Riley of Bethel, N.C., Jeff (Jamie) McCarty of Metter and Tammy (Joel) Rushing of Register; a brother, Roger Davis of Portal; sisters, Myrtle Braddy of Swainsboro and Doris Martin of Albuqerque, N.M.; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be conducted on Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Arron Church of God in Portal with Rev. Roy Jarriel and Rev. Burnon Jarriel officiating.

Burial will be in Portal City Cemetery.

Wood Funeral Home of Metter is in charge of arrangements.
