Grew up on Tamiami Trail near the Everglades. Moved to Indianapolis in 1965, working at LS Ayres as secretary 1966-1969. While living in Mt. Vernon, Ky. 1983-1989, was a member of Sunshine Girls at Rockcastle County Hosp., secretary of Rockcastle County Cancer Society, secretary of Mt. Vernon PTA, member of public relations for District 5 PTA, Unit Comm. for BSA Troop 263 in Rockcastle Co., member of Kit Carson Roundtable and received the Kit Carson District Award of Merit, member of Rise & Shine Homemakers, member of First Christian Church, also serving a election officer. Her family moved back to Cynthiana, Ky. where they were once again members of the family church, First United Methodist Church; member of Junior Achievement, member at large of Harrison County Homemakers, employed with Walmart for 12 years, served as election officer for over 10 years, as well as registrar for Cynthiana Chapter of Daughters of American Revolution for 6 years. Is a Christian and a Republican.

Married Robert Lee Palmer Sept 29, 1969 whom she met on a blind double date Sept 7, 1966 while he was stationed at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indpl's. They were the parents of three handsome sons and 6 grandchildren.

Sharon passed away from her illness on April 7, 2012. I got to know Sharon from "around town" and from helping her on Findagrave.com. Sharon Lee Benefiel Palmer,age 65, Cynthiana, died Saturday, April 7, 2012 at her residence.

Born in Miami Beach, Florida, November 15, 1946 to the late Richard Earl and Wanda E. Baugh Benefiel

She was a 1965 graduate of Miami Senior High School, member of First United Methodist Church and the Cynthiana chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, a Walmart employee for twelve years, an election officer for 10 years and a former advisor for the Junior Achievers in Harrison County. Mrs. Palmer was a Cub Master for Pack 263 from 1983 through 1989, a member of the Kit Carson Round Table and was a recipient of the Kit Carson District Award Merit in 1989. Her hobbies included genealogy, rock collecting and extensive travels with her husband, Robert Lee Palmer through Canada and the United States. Mrs. Palmer was delighted in the company of her family especially the company of her grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Robert Palmer, Jr. and his companion, Caroline, Ricki (Tina) Palmer and Jonathan (Emily) Palmer, all of Georgetown; six grandchildren, Jordan M. Palmer, Cynthiana, Savannah and Desiree Palmer, both of Danville, Haley and Taylor Palmer and Cody Carr, all of Georgetown; two brothers, Rick Benefiel, North Carolina and Dave Benefiel, Beaver Springs, Pennsylvania, two nieces, Dawn Benefiel, Dana Point, California and Michelle Benefiel, Indianapolis, Indiana; a nephew, Brandon Benefiel, Beaver Springs, Pennsylvania and a special cousin, Lettie Horton, Troy, Ohio.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 P.M. Saturday First United Methodist Church by Pastor Mike Coppersmith
