Margaret was born and raised in the Tacoma area. She graduated from Lincoln High School. After losing her mother at 15 years old she married soon at 18. Melvin Andrews, her childhood sweetheart, had gone into the Navy so she chose to marry Richard Jensen. They were married 20 years then divorced and she did then marry her Mel. She and Richard had 5 children with 4 surviving. She then gave Mel his only child, Melodee.
