Thomas was a friend of my Great Great Uncle Henry G. Bull and they shared a cabin during the civil war .My GG Uncle died of typhoid fever and Thomas was with him and wrote the last few letters home for Henry G.
Thomas was the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Maxwell who immigrated from Ireland to Bath,NY. His father was a farmer. He had a sister named Jane who was 5 years older.There were 2 other children Fannie 1848-1850 and William 1845-1850 who are buried at Harrisburg Cemetery in Bath,NY.
He maried Lucy A. and they had 3 children of whom 2 survived; Nina E. and Ada.In 1870 he lived in Bath with Lucy and was a store clerk.In 1880 they lived in Des Moines,Iowa and he was an agent for a manufacturing company. Nina was 7 and Ada was 10 months.In 1900 they lived alone in Cleveland, Ohio and he was a merchent and they had been married 30 years. In 1910 they were still in Cleveland and had Percilla Armstrong an 8 year old granddaughter living with them along with Francis E. Coleman their 17 year old neice. In 1930 Thomas was 83 an living in Clearwater,Florida with his daughter Nina E.and grandson Colby age 18. He died 9/16/1935 in Asheville,NC and is buried in Clearwater,Florida.
