Raymond "Sam" Carney, of near Dover, died Thursday, May 1, 1980, in Kent General Hospital after a long illness. He was 79.
Mr Carney was a self-employed farmer and also worked in the grounds maintenance department of the city of Dover until he retired 15 years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Alinda; a son, Wilson. of Dover; a brother, George, of Dover; two sisters, Helen Durham, of Dover and Dorothy Carney of Elmer NJ; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be Sunday at Torbert Funeral Chapel, Reed and Bradford Streets. Burial will be in the Immanuel Methodist cemetery in Cheswold.
