OBITUARY
GOOLSBY - Francis Asbury Goolsby was born Sept. 4, 1855 and departed this life April 19, 1903, beig 47 years 6 months and 15 days old. Brother Goolsby came to his death very suddenly. He was setting at the dinner table when the stroke came. Assisted by his wife he made his way to a cot where for about an hour he struggled with one death pain after another. The cause of his death we do not know. He had been complaining for several days but was able to be going up to the stroke. He was born and raised and lived in Orange County. His home was in the vicinity of McDonald (now known as Zellwood). His life as citizen neighbor and friend speaks for itself. No one has anything but good to say of him. When a young man he joined the Methodist Church at Old Conquest and remained a member to his death. We hope that in the resurrection morn he will be gathered with the Saints.
The Funeral services were conducted at McDonald Methodist Church by the pastor. A large congregation of relatives and friend gathered to pay their last respects to their friend and neighbor. He leaves a wife and several children with a host of relatives and friends to morn their lost. Let one and all pray that the special loving care and protection of our Heavenly Father may bestow around them in this sore trail and sad hour and may the grace of the Lord richly abound unto them in all sufferance.
