Mabel came from the coal towns of Pennsylvania. She married Millard Fenton Stynbeck and named him "Eddie" as she didn't care for his given name. She had bright red hair and an outgoing personality. Eddie and Mabel had no children. They lived in New York most of their lives and came to Utah to stay with her nephew, Jack Hertzke, when they needed eldercare. Mabel died of pneumonia.
