Died at 56 years old.
Francis was born 1765, he was the son of John Porter Sr. and Mary "Polly" Anthony, he married Sarah "Sally" Carson Jan. 8, 1788 in Campbell County VA.

Born c 1765 in Prince Edward County VA, he was too young to sign the 1776 Petition for Religious Freedom that his father and 3 brothers did, and was too young to join Virginia regiments in the Revolution as his 4 older brothers did. Still, it is believed he was in the militia at Yorktown.

In addition to children not mentioned below, Francis & Sarah (Carson) Porter had:

* James Porter (c1791-c1820) disappeared chasing a runaway slave
* John M Porter (c1795-1833) died of cholera Velasco, Brazoria County Texas Mexican Territory

Both were unmarried.
Died at 56 years old.
