|Death: ||Oct., 1897|
William Everett Simpson is supposed to be buried "on the other side of the river from Poland, Rapides, LA" This appears to mean he is buried on the Pineville side of Red River down in the area of ?. No record can be found of his grave in the four volume set of books on cemeteries of Rapides Parish. He reportedly caught pneumonia and died.
The best I can determine at this time is the cemetery may be the one known as the "Peart Cemetery" on a bluff overlooking Red River. From the description I have read some of the graves in this cemetery have disappeared into the river.
He had one marriage prior to Elizabeth Florentine Borland. This marriage produced two daughters, Mrs. Pauline Sullivan and Mrs. Tennie Pitcher, both of Arkansas acccording to the obituary for his widow, Elizabeth Florentine Borland Simpson in October 1948.
