Jeremiah transferred from the California Soldiers' Home at Yountville to the National Soldiers' Home at Sawtelle, where he was admitted March 15, 1889. George indicated he was born about 1821 in Canada, that he was a single miner, and that his nearest relative was D. C. McKinney of San Jose, California (relationship unknown). He filed for a Civil War veteran's pension July 29, 1890, and received application No. 866,883 and certificate No. 698,416.
