Isaac McGuire Bozarth was the son of James Henry Bozarth and Mary Ball Smith. His paternal grandparents were William Bozarth and Nancy Allen Burton. Isaac was the great grandson of Sarah Pierce and Levi Bozorth (the earlier spelling of Bozarth and pronounced as Bozier) of Hardin County, Kentucky, who were pioneer settlers in White County, Tennessee before 1811. The area where they lived later became DeKalb County, Tennessee. Isaac was born on April 10, 1859 in Smithville, DeKalb County, Tennessee. He married Martha Catherine League, the daughter of Joshua L. League and Elizabeth Jane Pedigo, there on September 13, 1879. They were the parents of 10 children: James Monroe, b. 03 Dec 1880 – d. Oct 1881; Zoanna, b. 04 Jul 1882; Isaiah, b. 24 Nov 1884; Joshua, b. 20 Sep 1887 – d. Apr 1889; Walter Scott, b. 07 Aug 1889; and Lucy Elizabeth, b. 08 Sep 1893. They were all born in DeKalb County, Tennessee. Moses P. was born in Richfield, Sevier County, Utah. Eliza Ball, b. 02 Mar 1897; Roma Lee, b. 20 Jul 1898, and Nathan, b. 06 Oct 1900, were all born in Paragonah, Iron County, Utah. His wife Catherine died at the age of 58 years, 5 months and 24 days on March 30, 1920 and was buried in the Paragonah Cemetery. Isaac followed her there at the age of 70 years, 7 months and 8 days on November 18, 1929. Their son Moses P. Bozarth, who died on his 9th birthday on August 25, 1904, is also buried there.
