Euthalius Irving Brown was the eighth child of James Brown. Euthalius had five half brothers and sisters from James' first marriage to Mary Thompson Brown; James Monroe, Arthur, Ira Bisbee, Ira Bisbee, and William Thompson. Mary died in 1833. James married Ruth Swan on 28 October 1838 and had three children: Mary T., George Miller and of course, Euthalius.

Euthalius married Alfreda W. Small in Norway, Maine, Oct. 13, 1885. Alfreda was the daughter of John Small and Mary Eveleth Small. They had two children: Mary (a.k.a. Mae) Euthalia who married Samuel E. Annis and Claude Irving who is believed to have been twice married.

Euthalius was in the lumber business and owned several large tracts of land through the years. He reportedly owned the Robinson farm in Sumner for a time, as well as 5,000 other acres in Oxford County. He also ran a tavern.
Politically he was an independent, socially he was a Mason and an Odd Fellow.
