A funeral service will be held Thursday for Jerry Ray Bartley, 541 Grant St., Mercer. He died at 1:10 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2002, in United Community Hospital, Pine Township, after an extended illness. He was 62.
Mr. Bartley was born Feb. 9, 1940, in West Monterey, Clarion County, to Arthur Bartley and Mamie Clark Bartley.
He retired in 2000 after 40 years of service at Reznor -- a unit of Thomas & Betts, Mercer.
Mr. Bartley was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church in Mercer.
Surviving are: his wife, the former Connie Jean Hodge, whom he married June 29, 1962, at the residence; two sons, Jerry R. Bartley Jr.; and Robert Bartley and his wife Beth, all Mercer; three sisters, Ellen Galena, Emlenton, Venango County; Kate, wife of Terry Kinney, Parker, Clarion County; and Sara, wife of Rod Hopper, Foxburg, Clarion County; five brothers, David Bartley, Kaylor, Clarion County; and Larry, Donald, Thomas and James Bartley, all Parker; a granddaughter, Madison Bartley; and a grandson, Jacob Bartley.
Mr. Bartley was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Carol Ann Bartley; and a brother, Edward Bartley.
