J. H. "Beanie" Howard was the mayor of Pearsall, Texas from 1951-1961. His early years as an adult were spent in Corpus Christi as an employee at a tire store. In Pearsall, he owed County Wide Vendors, in which he owed and serviced vending machines and juke boxes throughout southwest Texas. After retirement, he and Polly retired to their river house on the Medina River in Bandera, Texas. When his health began to fail, they moved to San Antonio, where he passed away.
