Albert W. Battle was the oldest child born to Henry & Florence Battle on February 22, 1912 in Birmingham, Alabama. He attended Industrial High School, graduating in 1933. He was joined in holy wedlock with Dora Lee Johnson in 1942, and to this union 1 son was born. He confessed Christ at an early age & joined the Metropolitan A.M.E Zion Methodist Church where he remained a faithful member until his death. He was employed by Baptist Medical Center Princeton, Department of Nursing Services in 1930, and retired in 1980 after 50 years of continuous service. He departed this life on Friday, January 1, 1999. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Dora Lee Battle & his stepdaughter, Mrs. Eloise Kindred. His memories will be cherished by a loving and devoted son, Albert Battle, Jr. (Cassandra), 10 grandchildrfen, Donald (Nancy) Battle, of Fayeteville, N. C., Valaria Jackson (Frank), of Birmingham, Alabama, Valencia, Kewamee, Lamar. & Yolanda Battle, Eunice Jackson, Herman Samuel, * Harold Kindred, all of Detroit, Michigan, 24 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren, 4 wonderful nieces, & a host of other relatives, Church family & friends. Services were held at the Metropolitan A.M.E. Methodist Church on Saturday, January 9th, 1999 at 1:00 pm, Rev. Dr. G. Ray Coleman officiating.
