ARGUELLO: Eliud Arguello, 90, a resident of Arenas Valley, entered into eternal rest Saturday, Oct. 5, at Gila Regional Medical Center. Mr. Arguello was born Sept. 12, 1912, in Chamisal to Elfido Arguello and Eloisa (Martinez) Arguello. He was the pillar of his family, who was loved by his family and friends. He was a happy and loving person, who was ready to help everyone. His love was working and cultivating his plants, and nurturing his pets and animals. He will be greatly missed by all his family and everyone who knew and loved him, including Joe and Emma Gallegos, and all his friends who visited with him. Visitation was held Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Baca's Funeral Chapels. The funeral service was to be held today at 11 a.m. at Baca's Funeral Chapels. Burial followed at Memory Lane Cemetery. Mr. Arguello is survived by five sons, Elfido Arguello and his wife, Louise, of Arenas Valley, Felix Arguello and his wife, Rose, of Grants, John Arguello and his wife, Rose, of Santa Clara, Allen Arguello and his wife, Mary, of Tucson, Ariz., and Dale Arguello and his wife, Tamara, of Silver City; three daughters, Dora Garcia of Taos, Eloisa Vasquez and her husband, Louie, of Alcalde, and Sophie Hassling of Albuquerque; 40 grandchildren, Henry, Pauline, Lina, Lorraine, Susie, Tommie, Sandra, Dale, Aaron, Tamara, Ann, Bobbie, Rick, Dawn, Joe Jr., Drake, Benny, Valerie, Janice, Abigail, Dorian, Ivan, Mildred, John Jr., Tammy, Tim, Debbie, Louie Jr., Elizabeth, Ted, Arthur, Paul, Stanley, Eliudina, Phillip, Renee, Sal, Andrew, Brandon and Rosina; 72 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Elizaida Arguello, and by his two sons, Eliud Stanley Arguello and Joe Avedon Arguello. Pallbearers were Felix, Allen, Tim, Dale, Joe and Phillip Arguello. Honorary bearers were Louie Vasques Jr., John Arguello Jr., Aaron Arguello, Ted Benavidez and Henry Garcia. Entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels, U.S. 180 East at Delk Drive. Phone 388-2334.
