CLAYTON BRADEN:
Clayton F. Braden, 79, of Nason, passed away at 7:06am on Friday, October 12, 2012 at his home in Nason. He was born Monday, July 3, 1933, in Waltonville, Illinois, the son of Bernard O. and Opal Mae (Phillips) Braden.
Mr. Braden was united in marriage to Loretta Parker, in Ashley, on November 13, 1954. She preceded him in death on March 8, 2005.
Clayton worked as a custodian for Rend Lake College and was of the Methodist Faith.
He is survived by a son, David Wayne (Joni) Braden of Mt. Vernon, daughters, Carol Sue (Jimmy) Meadows of Boyd, Betty Jean (Rick) Shopinski of Nason, Dorothy Ann (Larry) of Chandler, Indiana and Peggy Lynn (Rickie) Kirkpatrict of Bonnie, sister, Terri Lynn (Jim) Simon of Troy and Norma Jean Curtis-Reynolds of Mt. Vernon, fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
His parents, his wife, Loretta, and one sister, Bernadine Edmonds, a step-mother, Louise, preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm, Sunday, at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, with Randy Sells officiating. Interment will follow at Ashley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-1:00pm Sunday at the funeral home.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Hughey Funeral Home.
