Carl Leroy Griggs
Jan. 17, 1979 - June 20, 2013

A funeral service will be held for Carl Leroy Griggs, 34, of Coos Bay, at 2 p.m. June 29 at Coos Bay Chapel, 685 Anderson Ave. with Pastor Don Berney of New Beginnings Christian Fellowship presiding. Family and friends may gather to reminisce after the service at upper Bastendorf Beach under the gazebo, pending weather. Carl will be laid to rest at 3 p.m. July 1st below his grandfather, Carl Kelly, in the North Yamhill (Pike) Cemetery, in Yamhill.

Carl was born Jan. 17, 1979 in Coquille to Robert Griggs Sr. and Kelly McKeny. He died June 20, 2013 at home in Coos Bay.

Carl was full of life. He enjoyed huckleberry picking and playing pool. Carl had his own landscaping business. He had a green thumb and grew some very beautiful flowers. Carl loved his family and friends and always greeted them with a beautiful, big smile and kept them close to his heart.

Carl is survived by his mother Kelly McKeny and stepfather William McKeny of Coos Bay; his father Robert Griggs Sr. of Salem; stepmother, Lillian McWilliams, of Massachusetts; brother Michael Mckeny of Coos Bay; sisters Kimberly Griggs of Massachusetts, and Christy Kimball and brother-in-law Daniel Kimball of Grants Pass; nephews Brian Gavette, Vincent Gavette and Dennis Kimball of Grants Pass; nieces Danalyn Kimball and Aleksi Kimball of Grants Pass; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather and grandmother Carl and Juanita Kelly; grandmother Carol Griggs; his younger brother Robert Griggs Jr.; and his aunts LaLonie Kelly and Ramona Williamsen.
