Jay lived his entire life in Springfield where he met and married Pauline Perry abt 1923. they had three children before his untimely death. Ellen Lou b. 1824, James W. "Bill" 1926-1983 and Paul A. b. 1928.
Jay died of shock and hemorrhage after being accidentally struck by a passenger train of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad while he was sitting on the track.
