Verda Maxine Brown was born March 23, 1921, to George Thomas Hottel and Anna Belle Hottel. She passed from this life on December 8, 2015 at the age of 94.
Verda is preceded in death by her mother and father; her loving husband, Earnie Brown, of 65 years; and 14 brothers and sisters. She is survived by two sons and their wives, Bobby Brown and wife, Shirley, of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Dwight Brown and wife, Linda, of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren, Kristi Bloomer and husband, Scott, Kelli Kenyon and husband, Duane, Kevin Brown and wife, Tracey, and Alan Brown and wife, Sandy; 9 great-grandchildren, Amanda Bloomer, Ashley Bloomer Jourdannais, Kieran Kenyon, Katie Kenyon, Reese Brown, Rylee Brown, Karsyn Brown, Brycen Brown, and Landyn Brown; 2 sisters, Susie Wood and Annie B. Nichols; and 1 brother, Huges Hottel.
Verda’s first love was her family. She enjoyed flowers, quilting, painting and drawing pictures and baking. She walked daily with the Prince of Peace, her Lord and Savior.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, December 14, 2015, at Stratford Church of Christ, located at 210 E. Smith Street, in Stratford, Oklahoma, with Pastor Dwight Brown officiating. Interment to follow at McGee Cemetery, in Stratford, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, in Moore, Oklahoma.
