Concha M. Alonzo of Uvalde passed away on July 17, 2011 at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio at the age 78. She was born on June 15, 1933 to Antonio and Concepcion Moreno in Muzquiz, Coahuila, Mexico. She married Arturo Alonzo on May 26, 1948 in Muzquiz. She is survived by her husband of 63 years; daughters; Concha Resma and husband Roy of Uvalde, Socorro Alonzo Hughes of Salinas, California, Gloria Alonzo of Hillsboro, Texas, Dora Alonzo of Uvalde, sons; Arturo Alonzo and wife Janie of Austin, Juan Alonzo and wife Bessie of Raymore, Missouri; daughter-in-law Donna Alonzo Vaughan of Soledad, California; sister Maria Martinez of Muzquiz, Coahuila, Mexico, 15 grandchildren; Arturo L Alonzo, Marcos Alonzo, Henry Alonzo, Ruben Alonzo, Roy Resma, Alejandro Rodriguez, Christopher Rodriguez, Juan Antonio Rodriguez, Adrian Alonzo, Jonathan Hughes, Elena L. Alonzo, Carmen D. Alonzo Schumackor, Monica Rodriguez, Olivia Resma Quijano and Maricela Hughes, 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son; Guadalupe M. Alonzo, sister Socorro Fernandez and son-in- law; Henry J. Hughes. Rosary will be held on Monday July 18, 2011 and Tuesday July 19, 2011 at 7:00 pm. at Rushing-Estes Knowles Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday July 20, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
