The family called her Grace but she preferred Vivian. She was the youngest of three sisters. Her parents dedicated their lives to the Salvation Army and were assigned to the United States about 1930. Vivian met her first husband, DeMarquis Walls, a sergeant in the U.S. Army while he and the Fox family were stationed in Washington D.C.
She had a beautiful singing voice and was active in the entertainment industry. She had her own television show at KFDA TV in Amarillo, Texas in the early 1950's and sang in many venues on the Gulf Coast in Florida. She had two sons, DeMarquis Walls Jr. and James Neal Walls. She battled cancer for the last 10 years of her life. Her last husband Ernest Wayne Ackmann stood by her until the end and she is buried next to him.
