He was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania on March 23, 1963 to Thomas M. and Patricia Fields Acker and moved to Central Florida in 1980. He was a systems engineer for Oracle and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Casselberry, Florida. Survivors include his wife, Laurie A. Acker; daughters, Shannon and Allison of Longwood; parents, Thomas M. and Patricia Acker of Longwood; maternal grandparents, Rita and Charles Fields of Altoona, Pa.; paternal grandparents, Marion and Melvin Acker of Altoona, Pa.; brother, Jeff Acker of Tampa, Florida. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, December 23, 2000 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Hughes as celebrant with interment following the Mass at Highland Memory Gardens, Apopka, Florida.
