Beloved Wife, Stepmother, Sister, Daughter and Friend.

Brooke loved her country girl life. She wore many hats during her working career. Airline Stewardess, Probation Officer, Forest Service Ranger, even trying Mining in Nevada. Finally working as a Respiratory Care Professional the last 13 years of her life. She cared for her patients with empathy, understanding and was a fierce patient advocate.

Brooke enjoyed the outdoors, demonstrated by her almost daily 5 mile or more "walks". A voracious reader she loved a good mystery novel. I can still see her in her front pasture sitting on a favorite boulder for hours at a time reading her latest find.

She loved all her "critters". I remember the flock of guinea hens she raised from chicks following her all around the yard. She called them her "girls". The upper & lower ponds were home to her exotic geese and ducks. Her little rescue pup named "Zeke" who grew up to absolutely adore her. (and only her)
Brooke owned several horses and was an accomplished horsewoman. She loved to ride, often going on trail rides with friends even as she was struggling with her illness. She used to say, "I'm not going to give up, ever." I've always felt a deep sense of admiration for the strength & determination she had.

Brooke had a smile that could light up an entire room. I was blessed to have her as my best friend. And I hope to have just a fraction of the courage she had when it's my time to leave this earth. An independent, fearless soul to the end. We miss you Brooke, you fought the good fight. Godspeed good friend...
