Walter Stanley Bolton, a skilled mechanical engineer of this city, died suddenly Sunday morning of apoplexy. He appeared to be in his usual health, and leaving word with his wife about a few calls he intended to make, first went to call on Charles B. Clark, Essex Street who is confined to the house by illness.
Mr. Bolton had just entered the sick room, when the shock occurred, and before the family had time to realize that anything serious was happening, Dr. Lethiecq happened to call to attend Mr. Clark, and was able to give Mr. Bolton immediate attention. Mrs. Bolton was summoned and arrived in a few minutes, and everything possible for his relief was done, but death came within about half an hour.
Mr. Bolton was born March 14, 1856, and has always made his home in this city, although as an expert engineer he has in the past held important positions in various sections of the country.
He was a past master of Rising Virtue lodge, F. and A.M, past high priest of Mt. Moriah chapter R.A.M., a member of St. John's Commandery, Knights Templar, Eastern Star lodge of Perfection, Palestine council, Princes of Jerusalem, and Bangor chapter, Rose Croix.
Funeral services will be held at his late residence, 203 Pine street, time to be announced. The burial will be at Gorham, Me.
