Obituary: Harold Eddy Adkison went to be with God on Sept. 5, 2014. His presence blessed his family and others for 88 years. Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Yale and will be held 2 p.m. Sept. 10, 2014, at the First Baptist Church, Yale. Public visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Yale.
Harold was born Feb. 24, 1926, to the late Eddy L. and Vina (Shenold) Adkison in Hallett. He attended Maramec High School graduating in 1944. He joined the U.S. Army four days after graduation and served his country in WWII from 1944-1946. Soon after being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, Harold met and married the love of his life Joan Nall on Aug. 6, 1946. To this union two children were born Danny and Melody Ann.
Harold worked in the oilfield as a driller for 14 years. Later. he began working as an x-Ray technician and finally retired in 2000, Harold continued to x-Ray on occasion when he was called upon. Harold enjoyed raising mules, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed collecting pocket knives and guns, but the one thing he loved the most was his church family, Harold was a deacon in the church for many years and loved serving his fellow brethren in Christ.
Harold is survived by his son, Danny Adkison and wife Stephanie of Stillwater, three grandchildren: Jeremy Baker and wife Cindi, David Adkison and wife Reagan, Chole Adkison, three great grandchildren: Gavin, Corbin, and Karstin Baker.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Joan, and one daughter Melody Ann.
