Loris - George Cornelius Blackburn, 58, Loris Painter, died in Loris Community Hospital Saturday night.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 4:00PM in Mt. Zion Baptist Church by Rev. Eldon Grainger and Rev. Wilbur Squires. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Blackburn was born in Horry County, a son of Willie A. and Susan Garrell Blackburn. He was a member of the Forest Lake Baptist Church, Wilmington, NC. A veteral of World War II he was married to the former miss Lelia Goodyear.
Surviving are the widow of Loris: two daughters, Mrs. M.H. Loughlin of Wilmington, NC. and Mrs. Frances Phipps of Myrtle Beach; a brother, Dossie Blackburn of Loris; two sisters, Mrs. Johnny Mew of Loris and Mrs. Albert Grissom of Wilmington, NC.
The body will be at Hardwick Funeral Home until one hour prior to services.
Pallbearers will be Carl W. Rogers, L.S. Suggs, Ed Cox, Robert Grainger, Walker Hodge, F.C Gause Jr.
