Melvin Don Carden, age 78, of Amarillo passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2014. Graveside memorial services will be Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Don was born July 21, 1935, in Hamlin to Melvin L and Mary Louise (Hayse) Carden. Don was married to Mary (Barbarino) who preceded him in death. He worked most of his life as a civil engineer in the construction industry.

Don is also preceded in death by his parents and a brother Glenn Charles Carden.

Survivors include three daughters Trina and husband Tim Lamb and their son Erik of Springfield, Mo., Kim Parker and her children Adam and Bethany and granddaughter Lillian all of Amarillo, Melissa Barbarino of Amarillo. He is also survived by a brother Jerry and wife Kathy Carden of Wichita Falls, a sister Patricia Carden Moore of Amarillo as well as other step children and step grand children and nieces, nephews and cousins.
