Dar was born Darwin Kenneth Vest in Idaho. He was a self-taught scientist known for his dedication to the study of the hobo spider and other venemous spiders. As well as some venomous snakes. Dar and his sister Rebecca were responisible for reclassifying and naming the spider which was originally thought to be a brown recluse. On June 2, 1999 Dar met with friends at a local bar for a trivia game. He told his friends prior to leaving that he would be going to a second bar for a nightcap before walking into the night alone and was reported missing shortly thereafter. He is still missing as of this date.
