Boyd Wesley Blankenship, 78, of Vernon, British Columbia, Canada, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2005, at Vernon.
Boyd was born to Roy and Lulabelle Blankenship July 12, 1926, at Leland. He grew up in Bedrock Canyon near Leland. He attended schools at Welker and Southwick.

He married Norma Lorine Gephart May 3, 1946.
He worked in various sawmills in this area. In 1967 they moved to Prince George, British Columbia, Canada, from Orofino. From there they moved to Quesnel, British Columbia, Canada, where they owned and operated a restaurant. They later retired at Vernon.

Boyd is survived by his wife, Norma; a daughter, Shirley Chappel of Prince George; a son, Thomas Blankenship of Penticton, British Columbia, Canada; a brother, John T. Blankenship of Lewiston; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a baby sister, Caribel; and a brother, Edwin Blankenship of North Carolina.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Bethel Funeral Home at Vernon.
